Headshots That Will Dazzle

Haven’t had a professional headshot in years? Generated a soulless AI headshot and it just wasn’t you? Have a hard time taking a photo of yourself you actually like? You’re not alone! We specialize in helping every person see the beauty in themselves.

We work best using natural lighting (natural light is the best antiaging hack around, and flattering on everyone) so the majority of our sessions take place fully outdoors. This gives us the ability to have a ton of variety for backgrounds in a short amount of time. We meet at a local cafe, walk around and find the best spots and sun, and have a blast doing it!

When we’re finished shooting we’ll sit down together, go through the photos, choose your package, and they will be delivered to your inbox within 72 hours. It’s quick, professional, and a great confidence boost.

Looking for wedding photography? We do that too! Check out our portfolio at:

Rachel smiling and holding her Canon camera, arms resting on the back of a chair

Oh Hi, I’m Rachel!

I’ve been a professional photographer since 2015, and I love photographing people! I specialize in portrait photography, everything from headshots, families, and weddings. I have been heavily concentrating on headshots since 2022, and have photographed over 250 happy people and businesses since then.

I love helping people see the beauty in themselves, and will never get tired of hearing words like “I never thought I could look this good in a photo”. I know that being in front of a camera can feel awkward, but it doesn’t have to! I will walk you through every pose (and tell you exactly what to do with your hands) so you look your very best!

Outside of photography I am happily married to the man of my dreams (and live-in IT guy), Matt. We have two adorable (and naughty) dogs named Poppy and Tony. We love to travel and are always looking for the next adventure.

So let’s update that old headshot that has been on your profile since 2019, your glow up deserves to be shared!

Can I bring an outfit change?

Absolutely! Although since our shooting time is pretty quick the easiest way to achieve different outfit looks is to choose pants that go with everything, wear an undershirt or tanktop so you can quickly change on the street, or bring a jacket or sweater to put on top of your original shirt. A simple jewelry change is also a great way to change a look on the go!

What should I wear?

For a strong headshot we really want to focus our attention on your eyes, face, and smile. To achieve this I recommend wearing solid colors, as patterns can sometimes compete for attention and make a photo look busy. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, sometimes bold patterns pay off, so always defer to your personal style. Professional jackets or blazers look amazing, but anything with a collar always looks professional. Whatever you decide to wear please make sure it is wrinkle free and fits well. Your shoes, beltline, and nails will also be visible in photos, so please plan accordingly.

Can I cancel the session if something comes up?

Yes! If you cancel 48 or more hours in advance of your scheduled session you are free to transfer your retainer fee to a different date, or receive a full refund. If you would like to cancel after the 48 hour deadline you are welcome to do so, but you will need to pay a new $100 retainer fee to hold your session slot.

What if the weather is bad?

Since I specialize in outdoor portraits I always have my eye on the weather, and I have captured beautiful photos in every possible weather scenario. Most of the time for a light rain or snow we can use umbrellas to get to a covered spot and still get great shots. The weather I most often cancel for is high wind (no one looks good with hair or dust blowing in their face), extremely cold temperatures (red noses and stiff shoulders are no one’s friend), or blizzard conditions. I will always check in with you the night before or the morning of the session if there is a rough forecast so we can make a plan together. Whatever happens we can make it work, these photos were taken in under 20 degree weather, and while the process wasn’t as fun they turned out great!

Do I need professional hair or makeup?

This is totally up to you! I have many clients that love to treat themselves to a blowout before a session, and many that rock at setting their curls themselves. It’s a good idea to not go too heavy on makeup if you don’t wear it often, but having a little extra coverage or glitz on the eyes can really make your features pop in photos. Long story short it’s not a requirement by any means, but if it helps you feel confident and excited for the session go for it!

What if I feel nervous?

Would you feel better if I told you everyone gets nervous? I hear clients say all the time that they haven’t had a professional headshot taken in 10 years, or since their senior portraits, or some have never had professional photos taken of themselves at all. Most people are not professional models and have no idea what to do in front of a camera. It’s my job to tell you exactly how to look your best. I’ll be walking you through each pose and prompt, making adjustments as we go, and telling you exactly what to do with your hands. My clients come in feeling nervous and unsure, and quickly find out that it is actually a lot of fun! So don’t sweat the nerves too much, I’ll have you forgetting about them in no time. And if all else fails feel free to bring your dog, they make everything better!

Sarah

“Rachel’s experience really shines through. In the blink of an eye, I had dozens of amazing options. My only regret is not having done this sooner. Seriously, if you can't remember when your last headshot was or you look nothing like it, do not hesitate to book with Rachel. It's a true five-star experience.”

“Rachel is the best photographer ever. Period.”

Bri

“Rachel was so delightful to work with. She has such a passion you can feel and those are reflected in her lovely photographs. I can’t recommend her enough.”
